2009 Calendar of Events

July 16-19 — 55th Annual Carnevale
A wonderful weekend of Weed family fun awaits the 55th annual Carnevale fairgoers this year, July 16-19, 2009. The Carnevale will feature all the classic events with a parade downtown, bocci ball and baseball tournaments, music and dancing with a variety of entertainers, carnival rides, and of course all of the food and refreshment booths and vendors.
Admission to the grounds at Bel Air Park, adjacent to College of the Siskiyous Weed Campus, is free.
Butler Amusement Inc. will be providing carnival rides again this year. Pre-sale tickets for rides can be purchased at Scott Valley Bank, Tri Counties, US and PremierWest banks, as well as the Weed Chamber Cabin located at 34 Main St. in Weed.

July 17 — Citizen of the Year Awards Ceremony
Friday, July 17th, 2009 - 7:00 pm
Ceremony to be held on the stage at the Weed Carnevale
Categories include:
- Citizen of the Year (download application)
- Posthumous Memorial Award (download application)
- Club/Service Organization of the Year (download application)
- Meritorious Service Award (download application)
- Weed High School Teacher of the Year (download application)
Please turn your applications in to the Weed Visitor Cabin at 34 Main St in Weed, deadline for all entries is June 30th.

August 29th — Abner Weed Frontier Days and Rollin' Weed Custom Car and Bike Show
We're shutting down Main St for one day only for the Abner Weed Frontier Days and Rollin' Weed Custom Car and Bike Show. The street will be full with an art fair and music stage sponsored by the Weed Arts Council, and an array of commercial vendors, flea market, and of course the "Show and Shine" competition sponsored by the Weed Chamber of Commerce.
This event is fun for the whole family!! So come on down and have a day of fun in the sun!!
We are accepting applications up until August 3, 2009. Don't delay in applying because these booths go quick!!

September 16th — General Meeting
Membership Luncheon with featured speaker Joanne Steel of the Siskiyou County Visitor's Bureau will talk on In-Bound marketing @ HiLo Cafe.
October 29th — Membership Mixer
Meeting, Greeting and Networking. Metal Decor & More, 79 Weed Blvd, 5-7 pm
December 5th — Old Fashioned Christmas
Tree Lighting, Santa Claus, Food, Caroling, and more.
December 16th — General Meeting
Membership Luncheon with speaker Dave Palais of Nestle. He wil give a 15 minute talk with Q & A's to follow.
